Northern Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of New Zealand

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Northern Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of New Zealand for inviting me to judge their Champion Show. It was a privilege and a pleasure to judge at this show.

I would like to thank my ring steward ‘Denis’ for the great job he done and kept everything running so smoothly. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for the courtesy they showed me in the ring and for the sporting manner in which they took my decisions on the day.

Thank you to all for making both Imelda and myself feel so welcome and a very special thank you to Mark & Cathy for their hospitality and for taking the time to show us the sights. Also thanks for the lovely gift, which was presented to me after the show it was much appreciated.

As for the exhibits on the day, the baby puppy classes were superb with some lovely quality puppies and if they mature the way they should all looks good for the breed in the future. The adult exhibits were presented in lovely condition with a few carrying a bit extra weight and thus paid the price. In general mouths were very good but ears were a small bit untidy. Those that attained top honours today fit the breed standard perfectly.

Brindle puppy with white blaze and white on feet. Nice head, ears ok, clean front, moved well.

3rd Chase-Bester & O’Shea's ODENSTAFF BUTCH CASSIDY

Red Dog with half white head also on legs. Strong head, which was spoilt by his ear carriage. Dark eyes, good bite, front ok, powerful spring of rib. A bit long in the back, good turn of stifle, moved ok.

White dog with brindle patch over eye. Strong head, dark eyes, rose ears, bite ok. Clean front, good depth of brisket, well off for bone, good rib cage, level topline, nice tuck up to rear, good turn of stifle, correct tail set, moved ok. Intermediate in Show

Brindle dog. Head ok, dark eye, rose ears, good bite, good depth of brisket, clean front, well off for bone, good rib cage, strong back end, moved ok. Carrying too much weight today.

3rd Potier's WARFARE LITTLE MUSTATEER

Black brindle dog similar to my 2nd. Head ok, rose ears, clean front, level topline, and strong back end, moved ok. Again carrying too much weight.

1st Clarke's CHALLENGER HANG EM HIGH

Black brindle dog with white on chest. Lovely head shape, dark eyes, rose ears, good big teeth, nice depth of under jaw, lovely clean front, good depth of brisket, perfect amount of bone, tight feet, gun barrel rib, level topline, nice tuck up to rear, well muscled back end, good turn of stifle, correct tail set, moved well and held topline on the move. His young handler had him showing at all times. Won the class with ease. A pleasure to award him the C.C. and Best in Show
